In around 400 AD, pirates sold (sell) St Patrick to farmers in Ireland, where he  spent (spend) six years in captivity. One day, he heard (hear) a voice telling him to escape. So he went (go) to France. There, he became  (become) a priest and finally he returned (return) to Ireland, where he converted (convert) the population to Christianity.

Explications :

Vers 400 après J.-C., des pirates ont vendu saint Patrick à des fermiers en Irlande, où il a passé six ans en captivité.  Un jour, il a entendu une voix qui lui disait de s'échapper. Il est donc allé   en France. Là, il est devenu prêtre et finalement il  est retourné en Irlande, où il a converti la population au christianisme.
