I find there are many symbols in this photo
that truly represent Canada. We can see
my father, a second generation Canadian
of Dutch descent, wearing traditional Aboriginal
snowshoes. I think that this demonstrates the
multiculturalism of this country. He is walking
on a large ice sheet in Chaleur Bay, the name of
which is attributed to Jacques Cartier, one of the
first explorers of Canada. On the other side of the
Bay, we can see Quebec. This reminds us that our
country has two official languages. I find
that these are all signature elements of
Canada that define this country very well.
