Bonjour,

First off, the first Republican constitution, exemplified by the U.S. Constitution, came into being through several key steps. Yet, dissatisfaction with British rule led the Thirteen American Colonies to declare independence in 1776 and fight the American Revolutionary War. The initial governing document, the Articles of Confederation ratified in 1781, proved inadequate due to its weak federal structure. Moreover in 1787, delegates met in Philadelphia to draft a new constitution, creating a stronger federal government with a system of checks and balances and separation of powers among three branches which are legislative, executive, and judicial. Furthermore the Constitution was debated and ratified by the states in 1788, becoming effective in 1789. The Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments, was added in 1791 to guarantee individual liberties and address concerns about federal power.
This process established a federal republic with a balanced and limited government, serving as a model for future republican constitutions.

En espérant avoir suffisamment éclairé le sujet.
